We are seeking an experienced professional to lead client relationships and business acquisition strategies in the traditional individual life mortality space, as well as longevity and financial solutions for pension risk transfer, annuities, and life. This role involves managing client accounts, addressing client needs, and leveraging reinsurance solutions to overcome complex challenges. The position will work closely with internal teams to create and refine client solutions, ensuring successful outcomes and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Client Account Management and Strategy
- Lead client relationships and develop strategic plans to drive business growth and meet client needs.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their objectives and develop tailored, mutually beneficial solutions.
- Partner with Commercial and Innovation teams to support new business acquisition goals.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with key decision-makers through negotiations, visits, and ongoing communication.
Solution Marketing and Expertise
- Market and promote Traditional Life mortality, Financial Reinsurance, Longevity solutions, and VELOGICASM solutions.
- Stay current on industry trends and participate in relevant committees, conferences, and publications to enhance SCOR’s presence in the marketplace.
- Position SCOR as a thought leader through content creation and industry engagement.
Pricing and Deal Structuring
- Work with pricing actuaries to develop accurate assumptions for deals based on client circumstances and terms.
- Support the Pricing Team by ensuring adherence to pricing policies and techniques for new business opportunities.
- Lead Pricing Committee presentations, providing context and communicating deal-specific risks and mitigation strategies.
- Manage Business Reviews for all potential deals, communicating the rationale, risks, and competitive position.
Client-Focused Solution Design
- Act as the subject matter expert in facilitating solution design, collaborating with SCOR’s internal experts.
- Identify client or competitor “red flags” and develop strategies to address these concerns.
- Manage ongoing technical or business issues with clients, ensuring resolution of requests and finalizing treaties.
- Continuously focus on process improvement and share best practices.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in insurance/reinsurance, with progressively responsible actuarial and business roles.
- Strong technical understanding of insurance pricing and the needs of direct life insurance writers.
- 3+ years of leadership experience in business decision-making, managing direct or indirect teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple high-stakes transactions simultaneously, with a sense of urgency and results orientation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver formal and informal presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues, and external partners.
- Team-oriented with the ability to support colleagues and work towards organizational growth and profitability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASA designation required; FCIA and/or FSA designation preferred.
- Experience in deal structuring, negotiating, drafting, and financial analysis of complex transactions in the financial solutions space.
