We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Pricing Actuary to join our team and contribute to shaping our technical pricing and portfolio management strategies. This role will support the Americas Property business units by driving consistency, innovation, and efficiency in pricing processes while ensuring compliance and regulatory standards are met.

You will report directly to the Head of Pricing, Americas Property and Programs.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Establish the organization as a leader in technical pricing and portfolio management.
  • Deliver core tasks, including planning, variance analysis, and core pricing metrics.
  • Collaborate with Underwriting leadership, Reserving, and Capital Modeling teams, challenging and engaging them in decision-making.
  • Stay informed on regulatory and technological changes affecting pricing, ensuring the team adapts effectively.
  • Drive consistency in pricing and portfolio analysis across Americas Property business units.
  • Enhance efficiency in pricing processes and ensure compliance with pricing guidelines.
  • Train underwriters in pricing methodologies and practices.
  • Support the development, review, and maintenance of rating algorithms and documentation.
  • Present data-driven insights and metrics to Finance Business Partners and Reserving teams.
  • Address local underwriting data and analytics needs and challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with filed rates for local regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain property pricing dashboards.
  • Leverage enterprise capabilities, including Geospatial Underwriting, Risk Consulting, Pricing Analytics, and Catastrophe Risk Management.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Actuarial Qualification: Nearly or recently qualified actuary.
  • Education: Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Applied Math, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Significant expertise in non-life insurance pricing or reserving.
    • Strong proficiency in Excel and robust R programming skills; additional coding experience is advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • Strategic thinker with strong attention to detail.
    • Skilled in managing real-world insurance data and third-party datasets at an enterprise level.
    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a global team.
    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to convey complex concepts clearly and concisely.
    • Collaborative work ethic and commitment to quality and integrity.
