Key Highlights

  • Leadership Role: Mentor and develop the Pricing Actuarial team, fostering professional growth while delivering high-quality pricing models and strategies.
  • Diverse Portfolio: Provide actuarial support across Casualty, Crisis Management, Marine, Natural Resources, and Property lines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with Technical Pricing, Underwriting, and other actuarial departments.
  • Lead and mentor the Insurance Pricing team, supporting governance and reporting to senior management and board-level committees.
  • Develop, validate, and deploy complex pricing models in compliance with governance frameworks.
  • Analyse data to create robust technical pricing models that improve underwriting profitability.
  • Provide actuarial advice on pricing, Expected Loss Cost calculations, and business planning while challenging assumptions where necessary.
  • Offer critical insights during Pricing Portfolio Reviews to optimise portfolio profitability.
  • Collaborate with teams such as Exposure Management and IT to advance pricing model development.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and ensure continuous professional development for yourself and the team.

Core Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience in insurance actuarial roles, with a strong background in Lloyd’s and London Market Pricing.
  • Proven ability to work with complex data, statistical analysis, and actuarial modelling.
  • Experience integrating catastrophe modelling outputs into pricing decisions.
  • Strong communication skills to influence and engage senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, or VBA.
