Overview:
This position involves working within the reserving team to support the delivery of quarterly results and strategic insights. Reporting to the Head of Reserving, the role offers the opportunity to manage key reserving processes, collaborate with stakeholders, and contribute to data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reserving Ownership: Manage specific reserving classes during the quarterly reserving process, conducting technical reviews and in-depth analyses with guidance from the Reserving Manager and Head of Reserving.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Present draft results to key stakeholders, including Chief Underwriting Officers (CUOs) and underwriters.
- Dashboard Development: Contribute to the creation of live reserving dashboards, tracking metrics such as ultimates, earnings, and actual vs. expected performance.
- Data Integration: Oversee reserving data flows into finance systems, including Lloyd’s reporting and Solvency II Technical Provisions.
Qualifications:
- Strong actuarial exam progress, working towards full qualification.
Experience & Skills:
- Familiarity with ResQ, basic database queries, and coding languages like VBA and Python is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of reserving and a creative approach to problem-solving.
- Self-motivated and proactive individual with a desire to make a meaningful impact and grow within the role.
