Your Role

In this position, you will play a vital role in providing technical actuarial support and expertise for UK Retirement solutions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team on complex Defined Benefit (DB) pension scheme modelling, leveraging advanced actuarial skills and techniques.
  • Reviewing and checking intricate calculations for GMP Rectification and Equalisation projects and effectively communicating outcomes to consultants and support teams.
  • Driving continuous improvement by designing and delivering knowledge-sharing sessions, training, and process enhancement initiatives while coordinating new process rollouts across locations.
  • Partnering with internal teams to streamline services and improve outcomes for various business lines.
  • Mentoring junior colleagues within the GMP Equalisation team, including guiding their performance reviews, training, and development plans.
  • Developing consulting expertise for GMP projects, with opportunities for direct client engagement.

What You Bring

  • Qualifications:
    • Part-qualified or fully qualified actuary.
    • Strong understanding of UK Defined Benefit pension schemes and experience in benefit calculations.
  • Experience:
    • Expertise in technical calculations for GMP Rectification and Equalisation projects.
    • Experience in a similar actuarial role with a focus on technical aspects and collaboration with consultants.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional analytical, numerical, and critical thinking capabilities.
    • Solid understanding of actuarial approaches for pensions.
