Overview of the Role

Join a leading global specialty insurer and reinsurer, where innovation and analytics drive underwriting excellence. This role supports the Actuarial Pricing team in developing sophisticated pricing models and portfolio strategies for Cyber and Professional Lines with a focus on driving profitability and exposure management. Reporting to the Global Head of Professional Lines Pricing, you will lead initiatives to refine technical pricing, optimize portfolio compositions, and contribute to analytics-driven decision-making across a product suite with over $2 billion in premiums.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Pricing & Model Development:
    • Design and enhance technical pricing models for Cyber and Professional Lines.
    • Conduct portfolio-wide analyses to benchmark premium adequacy and ensure alignment with underwriting strategy.
  • Exposure & Risk Management:
    • Collaborate with Exposure Management to evaluate and monitor Cyber portfolio accumulation and clash risks.
    • Translate exposure data into actionable pricing models, supporting risk appetite and capacity allocation decisions.
  • Portfolio Insights:
    • Analyze key performance metrics to inform underwriting strategies and recommend capacity adjustments.
    • Lead in-depth profitability studies and performance evaluations for individual classes within the product suite.
  • Data Integration & Strategic Planning:
    • Explore opportunities for integrating third-party data to enhance underwriting and pricing capabilities.
    • Support reinsurance pricing analyses, including evaluating and recommending optimal structures.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Partner with regional pricing teams to harmonize technical pricing practices.
    • Engage with underwriting and exposure management teams to align pricing perspectives with broader business objectives.

About You

Core Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Associate or Fellow of an accredited actuarial society (or equivalent expertise).
  • Proven experience with pricing model development and data-driven analysis.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Cyber and Professional Lines products, including Management Liability and Errors & Omissions insurance.
  • Proficiency in SQL, VBA, Python, R, or similar tools for managing large datasets.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation.
  • Ability to translate complex actuarial findings into actionable insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
