Join a dynamic and collaborative actuarial team with a focus on supporting profitable growth through data-driven insights and strategic initiatives. As a Lead Actuary, you will work closely with the Chief Actuary and serve as the primary liaison with Underwriting, leveraging your expertise to deliver actionable solutions and support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct advanced actuarial analysis, including analytics and modeling, to identify actionable insights.
  • Lead essential actuarial processes such as rate reviews, reserving analyses, modeling, budgeting, and price monitoring.
  • Collaborate with Underwriting to pinpoint segments with profitable growth opportunities and propose corrective actions for underperforming areas.
  • Develop and refine rating methodologies for existing and new insurance products.
  • Manage multiple priorities, ensuring timely completion of mandated deadlines and discretionary projects with urgency.
  • Support monthly and quarterly financial close processes through detailed reporting.
  • Automate routine processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Communicate actuarial findings to non-actuarial peers and executives effectively, utilizing clear verbal and written communication and compelling exhibits.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Property/Casualty actuarial experience, with a preference for Commercial Lines Pricing and Reserving expertise.
  • ACAS designation or higher is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL, Visual Basic, R, and Power BI.
  • Practical experience in using statistical techniques to build predictive models for underwriting or claims challenges.
