Role Overview
We are seeking a Lead Actuary to provide expert actuarial advice to business units, ensuring technical excellence in reserving, business planning, and portfolio analysis. You will manage relationships with key stakeholders, including underwriters, claims, and finance teams, and lead a small team of actuaries. Your responsibilities include coaching junior team members, supporting senior management, and delivering accurate and actionable reserving results.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide quarterly reserving advice and business planning support.
- Conduct post-reserving analysis, and provide input into business variability parameters.
- Manage and coach junior actuaries, and support ad-hoc portfolio analyses.
- Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Clearly communicate key issues and uncertainties to business partners.
Skills and Qualifications
- Post-qualified Actuary (IFoA or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of actuarial analysis, modelling, and underwriting.
- Background in London Market or General Insurance, with knowledge of UK Motor & Liability business an advantage.
- Ability to manage teams and collaborate across departments.
