This role involves leading a team of quantitative model validators to ensure the soundness and appropriateness of actuarial models used across the organization. The position combines technical expertise with leadership and strategic oversight to address model risks and align with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team responsible for testing and evaluating the conceptual soundness of actuarial models, assessing their limitations and suitability for use.
  • Lead and execute model validation activities, including validation, annual reviews, ongoing monitoring, and findings management.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in model risk and related modeling areas.
  • Drive organizational understanding of models, products, assumptions, and processes across various areas, including Life Insurance, Annuities, ALM, and Hedging.
  • Collaborate with senior management to provide insights and recommendations based on validation outcomes.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Communicate complex findings effectively to diverse stakeholders.
  • Lead organizational change initiatives and influence key partners.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Economics, or a related analytical field.
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) with a minimum of 7 years of actuarial experience.
  • Extensive experience in actuarial model design, product development, implementation, testing, and validation.
  • Strong leadership background with a proven ability to mentor and develop talent.
  • Demonstrated ability to combine strategic and analytical techniques to address business challenges.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a proven track record of presenting complex information to senior management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Life insurance products (UL, VUL, IUL, Term, Whole Life) and Health products (LTC, CI, DI).
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • High level of accountability, attention to detail, and proactivity.
