Claims Reserving Analyst

Job Description.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our client’s Health team as a Claims Reserving Analyst. Reporting to the Reserving and Profitability Manager, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive reserving and profitability analysis across the health division.

Our client empowers her people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You’ll work at least 40% of your week away from home, either at one of the office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver timely and accurate reserve reporting. Provide and explain the impact of reserve movements and emergence on the result and communicate to key stakeholders
• Collaborate and work closely with international business partnering and the bordereau team to manage the international result
• Provide adequate and accurate documentation, evidence, and commentary for all internal and external review of reserves and reporting
• Develop and maintain reserving and reporting models that enable robust reserving and accounting. Identify and implement potential reporting and process improvements to enhance reporting and performance tracking
• Produce and provide accurate reporting to meet Solvency II, PRA, and Board reporting
• Internal Finance Controls including updating documentation to accurately reflect the current process, ensure controls are working adequately
• Support on projects impacting reserving, providing requirements, capturing relevant information which will enable future monitoring
• Monitor new and existing bordereau and products to ensure that performance is in line with expectations providing additional analysis where required

Requirements

• Display high degree of commercial acumen and strong analytical skills
• Working knowledge of actuarial reserving techniques and database management
• Advanced MS Excel and MS Access skills
• Strong relationship management
• Negotiation and influencing skills
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
