The Reinsurance Claims Team plays a vital role within the global claims function, embodying the group’s vision of delivering exceptional customer service through empowerment, collaboration, and innovation. We are seeking a proactive and skilled individual to manage reinsurance claims within a global portfolio, focusing on driving claims resolution and maintaining exemplary service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Claims Management
- Proactively manage standard and complex reinsurance claims within assigned authority, adhering to regulatory requirements and the company’s claims manual.
- Monitor potential claims related to individual risks or global events, including catastrophes and significant losses.
- Ensure adequate financial provisions for all claims, in line with reserving philosophy.
- Regularly review and manage claims to resolution using effective diary management tools.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide excellent claims service to cedants, brokers, underwriters, actuaries, and senior management.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Operational Excellence
- Document comprehensive and meaningful notes in the claims management system.
- Identify cedant audits and report findings to the Reinsurance Claims Manager.
- Highlight any emerging issues or trends to the Claims Manager and Head of Reinsurance.
Skills & Experience Required
- Professional Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in handling reinsurance claims.
- Strong knowledge of Treaty Reinsurance (cross-class) and London market operations.
- Technical & Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- High level of strategic thinking with the ability to articulate viewpoints clearly.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
