Job Summary
This role involves managing and developing the organization’s capital model to ensure it accurately reflects the risk profile and meets regulatory standards. The Capital Actuary will also use the model to address business and risk management questions.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop the internal capital model to align with the risk profile.
- Prepare Internal Model Capital Assessments.
- Utilize the internal model for business insights and risk management queries.
- Ensure the capital model adheres to Solvency II standards.
Other Responsibilities
- Build a deep understanding of the business to enhance the analysis of internal model outputs.
- Develop knowledge of regulatory approaches to effectively present internal model outputs.
- Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and relevant professional standards.
General Responsibilities

- Ensure fair outcomes in all customer interactions and maintain a high ethical standard.

Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
- University degree in a quantitative or analytical discipline (post-graduate degree preferred).
- Part-qualified actuary or willingness to pursue actuarial exams.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in modeling with strong analytical skills.
- Effective communicator, able to present information clearly to internal teams and regulators.
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Good understanding of commercial and financial principles.
- Skilled in time management, prioritization, and meeting deadlines.
- Programming expertise, particularly in MS Excel, MS Access, and VBA.
- Familiarity with statistical concepts and software, with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Knowledge and Experience
- Professional work experience, with exposure to the insurance industry considered advantageous.
- Competence in data analysis and research.
