This newly established leadership role oversees a cross-functional analytics team that unites expertise across All Lines, Econometrics, ULAE, and Specialty Workers’ Compensation (WC). As AVP, you will manage a team of six professionals, driving innovations in reserving, advanced loss analytics, and claim-handling efficiency. This position is part of the extended leadership team, shaping strategies for reserving modernization and advanced analytics.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Assess, prioritize, and communicate strategic initiatives to senior leadership.
  • Foster an environment for successful project execution and lead change initiatives.
  • Drive unit and cross-functional strategies, contributing to enterprise-wide initiatives.

Operational Execution

  • Lead actuarial and analytics projects to address business challenges, providing actionable solutions.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring resource optimization and project delivery.
  • Independently make decisions in alignment with organizational practices.
  • Develop innovative approaches to complex business problems.

Communication

  • Effectively communicate results, strategy, and insights to staff, peers, and senior leaders.
  • Tailor complex technical information for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Lead discussions across disciplines and produce polished written communications, such as memos and presentations.

Talent Development

  • Manage a team of managers and individual contributors, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Drive talent acquisition, retention, and professional development initiatives.
  • Mentor team members and support enterprise-wide training programs.
  • Play an active role in succession planning and workforce management.

Qualifications

Education & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Associate-level actuarial credential preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in quantitative analysis, with leadership exposure.
  • Strong understanding of insurance products and industry dynamics.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis, actuarial methods, and PC tools (e.g., MS Office).

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage senior leadership and diverse teams.
  • Strong influencing and consulting capabilities to build consensus across stakeholders.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and expertise in innovative quantitative techniques.
