Key Responsibilities

  • Client Portfolio Management: Deliver multiple projects across a portfolio of clients, ensuring timely, high-standard outcomes within budget.
  • Actuarial Expertise: Prepare and review actuarial calculations, including scheme funding, company accounting work, actuarial factors, and member calculations.
  • Client Engagement: Prepare client communications, presentations, and reports while building strong relationships with clients and third parties.
  • Project Oversight: Scope work effectively, ensure audit trails, and maintain rigorous standards for all client deliverables.
  • Collaboration: Work across teams to maintain consistent standards, cascade relevant information, and address conflicting demands proactively.
  • Team Development: Mentor less experienced team members, review their work, and support their professional growth.
  • Business Development: Identify new ideas and topical issues to raise with clients and contribute to proposition development and new business opportunities.
  • Time and Task Management: Record time carefully, manage deadlines, and ensure all work adheres to internal procedures and information security standards.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  • Actuarial Credentials: Associate or Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (or equivalent), with relevant pensions experience.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of actuarial techniques, UK pension scheme legislation, and computer applications.
  • Client-Centric Approach: Proven ability to manage relationships, communicate effectively, and deliver client-focused consultancy.
  • Organizational Skills: Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands, delegate effectively, and manage priorities.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Motivated to contribute to a team-oriented environment while proactively developing consultancy and management skills.
