Join a global leader in the Accident & Health (A&H) insurance market, offering innovative solutions across Europe, Asia, and Latin America. This role supports the ongoing expansion of international A&H product offerings and pricing strategies.
Role Overview
As part of the global A&H actuarial team, you’ll provide pricing expertise for international new and renewal business, contribute to reserving analysis, and play a key role in developing tools and strategies for a growing portfolio. This position is based in London with a hybrid work schedule, including two remote workdays per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the A&H international team to expand product offerings across Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
- Price new and renewal A&H business, ensuring accurate risk assessment.
- Develop and maintain Excel-based raters and provide actuarial input for rating platform implementation.
- Support reserving analysis with pricing insights and portfolio-level experience studies, including monitoring Actual vs. Expected performance.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and maintaining actuarial datasets and databases.
- Track exposure and probable maximum loss (PML) for the international A&H portfolio.
- Participate in client and broker meetings as needed.
- Mentor and support junior team members to enhance overall team capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Significant progress toward Associate or Fellowship qualifications with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries is desirable.
- Experience in A&H pricing, preferably with exposure to international markets.
Skills & Competencies
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficient in Excel, Access, VBA, SQL, with additional skills in R or Python preferred.
- Experience creating pricing tools to support underwriting workflows.
- Familiarity with SQL databases and pricing platforms is advantageous.
- Analytical & Communication Skills:
- Strong analytical abilities with concise communication of findings and results.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across regions and levels of seniority.
- Industry Knowledge:
- Experience in Lloyd’s and international Company Markets is beneficial.
- Proficiency in European languages is a welcome addition.
