This role involves delivering advanced actuarial analyses and overseeing junior actuaries, enabling data-driven decision-making across key business areas such as Pricing, Reserving, Reinsurance, and Corporate Reporting. The position is critical in shaping strategic insights and contributing to cross-functional initiatives, with a focus on collaboration, innovation, and actuarial precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced actuarial analyses grounded in widely accepted actuarial principles.
- Provide guidance to non-actuaries on actuarial concepts and methodologies.
- Represent the Actuarial Department on cross-functional teams, ensuring actuarial insights inform broader organizational strategies.
- Prepare and present materials that clearly explain actuarial findings to diverse audiences.
- Mentor junior staff, communicating corporate goals and principles effectively.
- Lead and manage cross-functional projects, ensuring deadlines, resources, and stakeholder needs are met.
Education & Certification
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (required).
- Certification: Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) designation (required).
Experience & Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 4+ years in actuarial roles.
- Strong project management skills, particularly in leading cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to balance creativity with sound actuarial judgment.
- Experience in the Excess & Umbrella insurance space (preferred).
- Familiarity with both pricing and reserving methodologies (preferred).
- Technical proficiency in SQL and R (preferred).
