Responsibilities
- Oversee reserving activities for a specific product tower across UK and European markets.
- Provide quarterly recommendations on reserves, IBNR, and reserve uncertainty.
- Collaborate with claims teams to assess initiatives and IBNR areas.
- Liaise with underwriting teams to evaluate portfolio changes and profitability.
- Deliver key reserving analytics and insights to stakeholders.
- Monitor reinsurance impacts and ensure alignment with product strategies.
- Lead a small team, offering mentorship and training to junior staff.
- Contribute to capital model calibration and Solvency II processes.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mathematics or a related discipline.
- Nearly or fully qualified actuary with significant reserving experience in commercial lines.
- Proficient in reserving software like ResQ; familiarity with R and SQL is an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
