We are expanding our UK non-life reserving team and seeking experienced insurance professionals to deliver innovative, market-leading solutions to our diverse clients.

About the Role

You will play a key role in providing exceptional reserving services to our clients, which include Lloyd’s managing agencies, multinational (re)insurers, UK and European domestic insurers, and niche market players. Collaborating with a team of skilled reserving specialists, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading high-quality client engagements, including independent reserve reviews and reserving-related offerings such as process transformation, methodology reviews, ResQ implementations, M&A due diligence, outsourced reserving functions, IFRS17, Solvency II, and Independent Expert roles.
  • Managing projects or significant workstreams from inception to delivery, including responsibility for results, assumptions, client communication, and presenting findings.
  • Guiding and supporting junior team members involved in project work.
  • Applying technical reserving expertise, market knowledge, and creative problem-solving to interpret data, draw meaningful conclusions, and deliver actionable results for clients.
  • Leading or contributing to thought leadership initiatives, focusing on advanced analytics and reserving transformation.
  • Supporting business development through relationship-building, proposal leadership, and participation in internal or external events.
  • Contributing to team growth through mentorship, line management, and training.

Key Requirements

  • Qualifications: Fully qualified actuary (FIA or equivalent).
  • Experience: Extensive experience in non-life insurance reserving, with senior-level expertise in a Lloyd’s Syndicate, London Market, Specialty or Commercial Lines Insurer/Reinsurer, or consultancy team.
  • Certifications: Lloyd’s Signing Actuary Practising Certificate holder, or qualifications to obtain one.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong ability to craft clear, concise client deliverables (reports, presentations) and communicate uncertainties effectively to Board-level audiences.
  • Strategic Vision: Capability to see the “big picture” and leverage multidisciplinary resources to address complex client challenges.
  • Relationship Building: Existing market network or the motivation to develop one.
  • Leadership: Proven skills in project management, delegation, and mentoring.
  • Teamwork: Personable, approachable, and enthusiastic about collaborating with others.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel to UK offices or client sites as required.
