Overview:
This role offers the opportunity to lead profitability analyses for multiple business units, employing traditional reserving methods to drive strategic decisions. The position involves partnering with cross-functional leadership and insurance partners, contributing to analytical advancements, and fostering a culture of risk awareness within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Profitability Analysis: Conduct end-to-end profitability analyses for business units, present findings to management, support strategy formulation, and address ad hoc and deep-dive analytical requests.
  • Data Process Enhancement: Contribute to the refinement and expansion of claims data production and monitoring processes.
  • Risk Identification: Establish early warning indicators and develop analytical practices for risk identification.
  • Analytical Evolution: Support advanced actuarial analyses, including range analysis, large loss modeling, portfolio optimization, trend analytics, and benchmarking.
  • Collaborative SWOT Analysis: Partner with actuarial pricing and underwriting management to conduct SWOT analyses for business written.
  • Ad Hoc Reporting: Create reports, analyses, and datasets to address and solve business challenges.
  • Risk Awareness Advocacy: Promote risk awareness and contribute to embedding a strong risk culture across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Fully Qualified Actuary.

Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in relevant actuarial roles.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the insurance industry, particularly specialty, commercial, or reinsurance sectors.
  • Strong expertise in reserving and risk analytics.
  • Proficiency with data manipulation and visualization tools such as SQL, Alteryx, MS Office, and Power BI.
