This role involves developing strategic relationships, managing actuarial projects, and driving innovation in underwriting and pricing tools to support business objectives. You’ll work across teams to provide strategic insights, enhance analytics, and contribute to achieving organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Recruit, train, and mentor team members as needed.
- Perform strategic analyses to assist business units in achieving target loss ratios, including developing underwriting improvement plans.
- Produce and present portfolio management analytics to business units.
- Develop and maintain pricing and rating tools for new and existing programs.
- Create tools for monitoring exposure aggregation in specific classes or risks.
- Conduct market, peer, and industry analyses to support product development initiatives.
- Drive standardization and automation in data and reporting processes.
- Strategize around leveraging technology, external data, and enterprise data organization.
- Collaborate with carrier partners to review program and portfolio underwriting performance.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, finance, statistics, economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in actuarial or related roles.
- Fellow or Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS or ACAS).
- Extensive experience in leading projects and delivering pricing solutions to business units.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in pricing and reserving methodologies and profitability analyses.
- Knowledge of catastrophe modeling and predictive analytics is a plus.
- Proficiency with data tools such as SQL, Alteryx, MS Office, Power BI, Tableau, R, or Python.
- Strong understanding of commercial lines and specialty/reinsurance sectors.
