We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to lead our Capital Modelling Department in driving strategic decision-making and business success. This role oversees a diverse portfolio of models and offers the opportunity to lead a talented team of ten in a collaborative, high-impact environment. You will be at the forefront of integrating capital modelling into key business processes and contributing to the organization’s long-term success.


Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Lead and manage a team of ten, fostering professional growth and maintaining a culture of excellence and collaboration.
    • Promote a supportive and balanced work environment while driving innovative solutions.
  • Model Oversight and Development
    • Oversee a diverse portfolio of capital models, ensuring they meet high standards of accuracy and relevance.
    • Spearhead initiatives to expand the use of capital models in decision-making processes.
  • Strategic Collaboration
    • Work closely with key stakeholders, including Reserving, Risk, Exposure Management, Catastrophe Modelling, R&D, Investments, Ceded Reinsurance, and Underwriting.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership, including Entity CEOs, CUOs, and Chief Actuaries, to align capital modelling with organizational goals.
  • Business Integration
    • Drive initiatives such as centralizing capital models in risk appetite monitoring and reinsurance purchasing decisions.
    • Provide insights and recommendations that inform strategic initiatives, such as the organization’s “Willingness to Lose” risk approach.

The Team and Culture

The Capital Modelling Department reports to the Chief Technical Officer, who is deeply invested in leveraging capital modelling for strategic advantage. Collaboration across departments such as Exposure Management, Catastrophe Modelling, and R&D ensures the team is supported by a centralized structure that fosters innovation and growth.

The department enjoys a strong reputation within the organization, driving significant engagement from the Executive Team and ensuring a robust platform for the development and application of capital modelling insights.
