We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Actuary to lead and shape our actuarial and data analytics functions. This role is pivotal in influencing organizational strategy, ensuring sound actuarial practices, and driving innovation in data-driven decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Lead the development and implementation of premium and loss/ALAE forecasting models for corporate planning.
- Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to establish and execute corporate goals and strategies.
- Advise enterprise leaders on pricing, reserving philosophies, and policy development.
- Portfolio Management
- Work closely with pricing actuaries and underwriters to evaluate assumptions, model outcomes, and the impact of new business on portfolio diversification and profitability.
- Data and Analytics
- Oversee data reporting enhancements, including the development of the data warehouse 2.0.
- Guide the creation and maintenance of advanced product rating plans, ensuring the integrity of rate indications using industry-standard methodologies.
- Reserving and Reporting
- Lead quarterly and semi-annual loss & LAE reserve reviews, presenting findings to the Reserve and Audit Committees.
- Develop and maintain reserve levels using standard actuarial reserving methods.
- Reinsurance Support
- Prepare data for pricing annual reinsurance renewals, including property catastrophe and casualty excess loss information.
- Team Leadership
- Provide oversight, training, coaching, and development for actuarial and data analytics teams, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) designation required.
- Additional insurance education credentials (e.g., ASA, CPCU) are desirable.
- Experience:
- 15+ years of actuarial experience across reserving, reinsurance, pricing, and ratemaking.
- 15+ years of management experience, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, reserving software, and Power BI.
- Familiarity with internal systems such as WINS, ImageRight, and SharePoint.
- Core Competencies:
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written, with experience presenting to large audiences.
- Highly organized, with the ability to develop and execute annual strategic plans effectively.
