About the Role

This position reports to the Head of Capital Modelling and involves maintaining and developing Capital Models across multiple syndicates and entities. The role offers exposure to senior stakeholders and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the Capital Model reflects changes in the business’s risk profile. There are also opportunities for investigative work and contributing to strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Capital Modelling Leadership:

  • Develop, parameterize, document, and run internal capital models.
  • Produce regulatory capital reports for global authorities.
  • Represent the capital modelling function in governance processes.
  • Support senior leadership in capital planning and management activities.
  • Embed capital modelling insights into business decisions, including planning, portfolio optimization, growth strategies, and reinsurance purchases.

Specialized Workstreams:

  • Lead submissions for Standard Formula, Lloyd’s Capital Return (LCR), or Lloyd’s Standard Model (LSM) and associated documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as underwriting, finance, and risk management; communicate capital modelling outcomes effectively.
  • Support IMAP submissions for new syndicates, ensuring regulatory compliance and engagement.
  • Contribute to policies and documentation related to Internal Models.
  • Assist in model validation and respond to findings or feedback promptly.
  • Support evaluations of new business ventures, including Strategic Partner Syndicates.
  • Conduct solvency capital assessments in line with Lloyd’s and Solvency II/Solvency UK guidelines.

Team Management:

  • Lead parameterization efforts for new classes within models.
  • Manage direct reports, fostering their growth through training and mentorship.
