Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Reserving Actuary to join our Actuarial Reserving team. This role involves providing actuarial advice, building relationships with key stakeholders, and ensuring technical quality. You will be responsible for delivering bi-annual reserving advice, conducting deep dives into portfolio segments, and supporting senior managers. Additionally, you will coach student actuaries and may have direct line management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Forecast technical provisions, reserve margins, and uncertainties for reports, business planning, and profitability studies.
- Support senior team members with complex issues and stakeholder explanations.
- Supervise a small team, manage priorities, and provide performance feedback.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and ensure the accuracy of data and analyses.
- Develop and refine actuarial models and processes for efficiency.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience in actuarial functions, preferably in general insurance (GI).
- Strong stakeholder management and numerical data interpretation skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and analytical tools, with a capability to develop complex models.
- Ability to challenge established processes and drive improvements.
