Deloitte, in the UK, employs over 14,000 staff members and generated over £2.55 billion from their work in audit, tax, consulting and corporate finance. In 2014, they invested over 27 million on learning and development for their employees.
The business had a requirement for a senior capital actuary to take on a leadership role within their actuarial consulting practice. Hewitt Stone was offered an initial trial period of 6 months to assess how we would perform with respect to finding suitable candidates for the business.
3 months into our 6 month trial, Deloitte was extremely impressed by Hewitt Stone, subsequently offering Hewitt to become their preferred supplier of specialized personnel.
Challenge
Despite being a global brand with a strong presence in the market, challenges were still being faced when it came to attracting the brightest actuaries in the market. The business had to attract the highest calibre of experienced capital modelling actuaries who had either been working in a company or as a consultant advising companies. This was proving to be a challenge primarily due to certain misconceptions in the market around work-life balance in consultancies.
Solution
After a detailed briefing with the business, we came to the realisation that the opportunity to work for Deloitte was a fantastic one; however, there was an apparent need to get the brand message right. In close partnership with the business, we were able to tailor the right message for the client, which gave a true reflection of the breadth of the role.
