Background
The Co-operative Group is the UK’s largest mutual business, owned by millions of members. Alongside The Co-operative Insurance, they have the UK fifth biggest food retailer, the UK number one funeral services provider, and a developing legal services business.
Following a lengthy search for a suitable candidate to join their pricing team, their existing suppliers were simply unable to fill the position. Hewitt Stone was then invited to work on the position.

Following a detailed briefing, we identified that the urgent nature of the requirement meant that the business may be served best by attracting a contractor for the role.
Subsequently, we delivered a shortlist of contractors, from which the position was filled. The business was thoroughly impressed with our consultative approach and delivery success, inviting us to join their list of preferred suppliers.
We are now simply their best performing agency for actuarial talent and have gone on to fill other tough positions in the business.
