Background

KPMG in the UK is a leading provider of professional services including audit, tax and advisory.

KPMG in the UK has over 10,000 partners and staff working in 22 offices and is part of a strong global network of member firms.

The business had gone through some testing times and needed to rebuild and strengthen their actuarial function significantly. The plan was to establish their Actuarial consulting practice as the leader of the pack.

Word had spread in the market about Hewitt Stone’s efficiency and effectiveness which led to us being invited to recruit for KPMG UK.

The Challenge

Due to their ambitious growth plans, it seemed there just wasn’t enough talent out there. Not just any candidate, but the highest calibre. The challenge was not just to grow the headcount; it was to attract the brightest individuals in the market.

The business required strong talent across pretty much every level and this also presented an entirely different challenge as far as prioritising the search and sourcing from a pool which got thinner, the higher up you went on the seniority scale.

The Solution

Following a meeting with a senior Partner at KPMG, we identified a few things we needed to address immediately. The business had some great plans and was already doing some fantastic work in the market. However, from that meeting we concluded that the message was not being communicated effectively.

We took time internally to refine the KPMG message, drawing out all the significant benefits associated with joining the business.

By combining a strong message and a proactive targeted approach, we were able to successfully introduce a significant number of people to KPMG. We are now a valued partner for the organisation.
