Role Overview

This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a hybrid capacity, supporting actuarial functions such as capital modeling, regulatory compliance, and financial risk analysis. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams globally, delivering key outcomes related to economic capital assessments and risk management. You will gain exposure to senior leadership and a broad spectrum of insurance and financial services.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Capital Modeling & Analysis:
    • Support the delivery of economic capital assessments through data analysis, risk calibrations, and stress testing.
    • Ensure compliance with capital adequacy regulations and continuously improve the modeling framework.
  2. Reporting & Insights:
    • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders, including executive leadership and regulatory bodies.
    • Deliver insights to optimize risk profiles and support financial decision-making.
  3. Process Optimisation:
    • Implement initiatives to streamline actuarial processes and improve data quality.
    • Develop efficient methods for internal and external reporting.
  4. Strategic Contributions:
    • Participate in initiatives aimed at optimising risk profiles, including reinsurance activities and strategic mergers or acquisitions.
  5. Team Collaboration & Development:
    • Work with global actuarial teams to share knowledge, improve processes, and foster a culture of continuous learning.
    • Coach junior team members to enhance their skills and career development.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Actuarial Progression: Part-qualified actuary with 4-7 exam passes and experience in general, life, or health insurance.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in Excel; knowledge of programming languages like Python or R is highly advantageous. Familiarity with capital modeling tools such as Tyche, Igloo, or Aon ReMetrica is a plus.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Solid understanding of Solvency II regulations, financial controls, and compliance standards.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication, with experience preparing executive-level reports and presentations.
  • Analytical Mindset: Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to handle complex processes effectively.
